MIKROE-6856 is an Ambient 26 Click compact add-on board designed for detection of visible and UV radiation for adaptive control, environmental awareness, safety-related applications. It is based on LTR-390UV-01, an ambient light and UV sensor from Lite-On Semiconductor with direct I2C communication. It provides a highly linear response over an extremely wide dynamic range of up to 1:18,000,000 with selectable resolution from 13 to 20 bits, a spectral response closely matched to the human eye, programmable interrupts with hysteresis for both ALS and UV channels, and built-in rejection of 50/60Hz lighting flicker, ensuring stable measurements under artificial lighting conditions. The board supports the Click Snap format, allowing the sensing part to be detached and used independently. It is well suited for UV index monitoring to help protect users from harmful exposure, as well as for automatic brightness and colour adjustment in mobile devices, computing platforms, consumer electronics.
