Product Overview

TC9400CPD is a voltage-to-frequency converter utilizing low-power CMOS technology. The converter accept a variable analogue input signal and generate an output pulse train, whose frequency is linearly proportional to the input voltage. It can also be used as highly accurate Frequency-to-Voltage (F/V) converters, accepting virtually any input frequency waveform and providing a linearly proportional voltage output. A complete V/F or F/V system only requires the addition of two capacitors, three resistors, and reference voltage. Application includes microprocessor data acquisition, 13bit analogue-to-digital converters (ADC), analogue data transmission and recording, phase locked loops, frequency meters/tachometer, motor control, FM demodulation.
  • Choice of linearity is 0.05% (voltage-to-frequency, frequency to voltage converter)
  • Low power dissipation is 27mW (typ.), programmable scale factor
  • Gain temperature drift is ±25ppm/°C typ (VDD = +5V, VSS = -5V, VGND = 0V, 0 to +70°C)
  • Gain variance is ±10% of nominal typ (VDD = +5V, VSS = -5V, VGND = 0V, 0 to +70°C)
  • Zero offset is ±10mV typ (VDD = +5V, VSS = -5V, VGND = 0V, 0 to +70°C)
  • Response time is 2Cycle typ (settling time to 0.1% full scale, 0 to +70°C)
  • VDD Supply range from ±4 to 4V (operating range of negative and positive supply, 0 to +70°C)
  • Pulse frequency output width is 3µs typ (VDD = +5V, VSS = -5V, VGND = 0V, 0°C to +70°C)
  • IDD quiescent supply current is 1.5mA typ (VDD = +5V, VSS = -5V, VGND = 0V, °C to +70°C)
  • 14 pin DIP package, commercial operating temperature range from 0 to 70°C
