Product Overview
FT4232HL-TRAY is an USB 2.0 high-speed to UART/MPSSE interface IC that provides four independent UART channels with advanced serial communication and protocol conversion capabilities. Two of the channels can be independently configured with MPSSE functionality, enabling support for JTAG, SPI, I2C, bit-bang, and other synchronous serial interfaces while the remaining channels operate as UART or bit-bang ports. The device integrates the entire USB protocol on-chip, removing the need for USB firmware development, and supports both USB 2.0 High-Speed (480Mb/s) and Full-Speed (12Mb/s) operation. It features FT232B-style UART interfaces with full hardware handshaking, modem control signals, configurable UART settings including 7/8-bit data, parity and stop bit options, and automatic transmit enable control for RS485 applications through the TXDEN pin. The FT4232H supports independent baud rate generators with UART transfer rates up to 12Mbaud for RS232, RS422, and RS485 communication.
