Product Overview
FT234XD-T is a compact USB-to-serial UART interface IC designed for space-constrained PCB applications. It provides a single-chip solution for USB-to-asynchronous serial data transfer, with the entire USB protocol handled internally, eliminating the need for USB-specific firmware development. The device includes fully integrated 2048byte multi-time-programmable memory for storing USB descriptors and CBUS I/O configurations, along with an internal clock generator that removes the need for an external crystal and can optionally provide a clock output for direct MCU or FPGA interfacing. Supporting data transfer rates from 300baud up to 3Mbaud for RS232, RS422, and RS485 applications, it features 512byte transmit and receive buffers with buffer smoothing technology for efficient data throughput. The FT234XD-T supports configurable CBUS I/O functions, transmit and receive LED drive signals and flexible UART settings including 7 or 8 data bits, 1 or 2 stop bits and multiple parity options.
