Product Overview
FT230XS-U is an USB to serial UART interface IC with an optimized pin count for compact PCB designs. It provides a single-chip solution for USB to asynchronous serial data transfer, with the entire USB protocol handled internally, eliminating the need for USB-specific firmware development. The device features integrated 2048byte multi-time programmable (MTP) memory for storing USB descriptors and CBUS configuration, along with an internal clock generator that removes the need for an external crystal. It supports data transfer rates from 300baud up to 3Mbaud for RS232, RS422, and RS485 communication at TTL levels. The device includes 512byte RX and TX buffers with buffer smoothing technology for reliable high-speed data throughput. FTDI royalty-free VCP and D2XX drivers simplify system integration, while configurable CBUS pins provide additional I/O flexibility.
